2024 GIRLS WORLD CUP

WHY WORLD CUP?

Program Notes:

  • No discounts for missed days or cancellations due to weather.
  • Maineiax reserves the right to adjust this program. 
  • US Lacrosse membership is required (at additional cost) for all players for insurance and liability purposes, no exceptions.

Girls Divisions: 6-8th grades, 9-12th grades

This program will sell out. Players must be registered & paid for in order to reserve a roster spot!

HIGH SCHOOL WORLD CUP - THIS PROGRAM IS SOLD OUT

9th – 12th Grades, $225
@ the Maine Athletic Complex (the MAC), 1173 Riverside St, Portland
February 11 – March 24 (6 weeks, no games 2/18)
Games are Sundays 10am-3pm OR Thursday 7-9pm (teams have 1 or 2 Thursday night game over the course of the program)
Teams are assigned one weekly 1 hour time slot on Sunday OR Thursday; time slot/day varies each week based on schedule. 
*Players need to arrive 20 minutes early for warmup with your team

Our most popular program of the year and the perfect pre-season warm-up! 6 weeks of league play designed to get you ready for the season! High school teams will play full field indoors at the MAC with game times rotating on Sundays and Thursdays. This live play experience will ensure each player gets lots of reps while enhancing game awareness & speed and improving stick skills & lacrosse IQ. 

Players may register as a free agent or request to be on a roster with a friend(s) and each player will be assigned to one country team to play on for the duration of the program. 
Rosters will be capped to maximize reps for each player. Teams who have more players will be split into 2 teams with possible free agents. 

Scores will be recorded and playoffs will be held on the last Sunday to determine winners! 1st place teams will be named the World Cup trophy AND a 
Spirit Award will be given to the team who exemplifies the most team spirit over the 6 weeks! Players must wear a reversible pinnie (available at registration) OR teams may decide on same color tee-shirts to wear.

  • Games are full field, running time, 2 minute halftime. 
  • There is limited individual coaching during this program with the focus being more on team concepts. For more individual coaching, please see our Skill programs here

MIDDLE SCHOOL WORLD CUP

6th – 8th Grades, $199
@ the Maine Athletic Complex (the MAC), 1173 Riverside St, Portland
February 25 – April 7 (6 weeks, no games 3/31)
Sundays – 8:00am, 9:00am or 10:00 am (teams are assigned one weekly 1 hour time slot; time slot varies each week.)

Middle school teams will always play indoors at the MAC and the field will be split into two fields for small sided 6v6 games. This live play experience will ensure each player gets lots of reps while enhancing game awareness & speed and improving stick skills & lacrosse IQ.

Players may register as a free agent or request to be on a roster with a friend(s) and each player will be assigned to one country team to play on for the duration of the program. 
Rosters will be capped at 10 players to maximize reps for each player. Teams who have more than 10 players will be split into 2 teams with free agents.

PROGRAM NOTES

  • No on-field warm-up, players should arrive 20 min early to stretch/pass on side or back of field. Please find teammates to stretch and pass when you arrive. You should be ready to play game at the start of your time slot!
  • All games will be running time, no halftime.
  • Our coaches will be in charge of 3-4 minute sub rotations for all teams; we strive for even playing time for all players.
  • All players should wear a reversible pinnie (if you ordered a Maineiax pinnie, please bring your own if you have one in case we run out before new shipment arrives) OR a team color tee shirt. 
  • No jewelry should be worn during games
  • Players cannot play without a mouth guard, face mask and goggles.
